Government Allocates ₴22.35 Billion To Protect Critical Infrastructure, Says Kuleba

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuleba, announced this on Facebook.

“Construction and preparatory work for physical protection is currently underway at water, heating, and electricity supply facilities and at Ukrzaliznytsia. A decision has already been made to allocate 22.35 billion hryvnias-this covers over 600 specific protective elements,” the post states.

According to Kuleba, a meeting was held with all parties responsible for this work, including the Recovery Agency, regional military administrations, relevant services and ministries, and representatives of the General Staff.

“For each facility, there is a clear understanding of exactly what protection is needed and how to implement it. We are finalizing technical preparations for new facilities,” the official noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that time is short and that the enemy is attempting to slow construction by shelling.

Kuleba emphasized that physical protection is only part of the solution. In the meantime, a distributed generation network is being developed in Ukraine, and backup power elements are being added to ensure the population's access to water and heating.
