Middle East Tensions Threaten US Economic Stability

(MENAFN) Heightened hostilities in the Middle East, following assaults by the US and Israel on Iran and Iran’s subsequent retaliatory actions, present a fresh threat to the US economy, which is already contending with tariffs, sluggish employment, and enduring inflation.

The missions conducted by the US and Israel on Feb. 28, followed by Iran’s counterstrikes on locations in nations hosting US bases, including Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain, have amplified uncertainty in international markets.

Apprehensions that a protracted confrontation could interrupt trade routes and rekindle inflation have intensified as the length of the clashes remains uncertain.

US President Donald Trump projected that the operations would endure "four to five weeks" but acknowledged that they have the potential to continue longer "if necessary."
