APS Attack Case: Two Accused Acquitted, 16 Remain Proclaimed Offenders

The Anti-Terrorism Court in Peshawar has announced an important decision while hearing the bail applications of the accused nominated in the Army Public School (APS) attack case.

The court acquitted two accused, Jan Wali alias Sheena and Shakeel, due to lack of evidence.

During the hearing, the court declared 16 accused in the case as proclaimed offenders and issued arrest warrants against them.

According to the prosecution, those declared absconders include Mangal Bagh, Haji Gul Bahadur, Commander Omar Khalid Khorasani, Commander Hafiz Saeed, Commander Aurangzeb, Commander Fazlullah, Hafiz Daulat, Qari Shakeel, Qari Saifullah, Islam Farooqi, Maulvi Faqir, Ajnabi, Angara Apaji, Abu Zar, and Sarwar Shah, among others.

The prosecution informed the court that on December 16, 2014, terrorists attacked the Army Public School in Peshawar.

More than 140 children were martyred and over 200 people were injured in the tragic incident.

After reviewing the evidence, the court approved the plea and ordered the acquittal of the two accused, while also directing that legal action be expedited for the arrest of the absconding suspects.
