Turkey Completes Preparations to Protect Citizens Amid Regional Tensions

(MENAFN) Türkiye has confirmed that all necessary measures are in place to safeguard its citizens following recent regional developments, according to diplomatic sources.

Officials stated that Turkish embassies and consulates across the affected areas are fully operational, continuing their work without interruption. The Foreign Ministry’s Consular Call Center, available at 00 90 312 292 29 29, is providing round-the-clock support, handling inquiries, offering guidance, and coordinating rapid responses in emergency situations.

Sources noted that all flights to the region have been suspended, though Türkiye’s three border crossings with Iran remain open.

The measures come after explosions struck Tehran on Saturday morning, coinciding with Israel’s announcement of "preemptive" strikes against Iran and US President Donald Trump confirming "major combat operations" in the country.

Iran has accused the US and Israel of military aggression, labeling the attacks a violation of its sovereignty and a breach of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter. While emphasizing that it had initially prioritized diplomacy to avoid conflict, Iranian authorities stated that “the time has now come to defend the homeland,” pledging that its armed forces would respond in a “decisive and powerful manner.”
