Kuwait's Consulate General In Jeddah Marks National Days

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, Feb 15 (KUNA) -- The Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in Jeddah held a reception on Sunday to commemorate the 65th anniversary of National Day and the 35th anniversary of Liberation Day.
The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Jeddah, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, and the Director General of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs branch in the Makkah Region, Farid Al-Shehri.
The event also drew high-level participation from the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), members of the diplomatic corps, and foreign consuls stationed in the Kingdom.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Consul General of Kuwait in Jeddah and Permanent Representative to the OIC, Yousef Al-Tunaib, extended his highest congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti people.
Al-Tunaib paid tribute to the "noble sacrifices made by the loyal sons of Kuwait who gave their lives for the homeland," noting that their heroism remains the bedrock of the nation's modern progress and prosperity.
He lauded the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, describing them as historically resilient and continually bolstered by the "wise and insightful vision" of both leaderships.
Al-Tunaib emphasized that the relationship has evolved beyond traditional diplomatic norms into a profound bond of kinship, shared destiny, and strategic alignment on regional and international issues-principles further reinforced by Saudi Vision 2030 and Kuwait Vision 2035.
Highlighting recent bilateral milestones, the Consul General pointed to the tangible outcomes of the third Kuwaiti-Saudi Coordination Council meeting held in Riyadh in November 2025.
This meeting, co-chaired by the foreign ministers of both nations, resulted in several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) spanning energy, economy, trade, science, and technology.
He also welcomed the recent formation of the first joint Saudi-Kuwaiti Business Council by the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, aimed at catalyzing investment partnerships.
Al-Tunaib concluded by expressing his sincere wishes for continued security and stability to the Saudi leadership and people on the occasion of the Saudi National Day, affirming that the bilateral partnership stands as a "firm model of solidarity and understanding between brothers." (end)
