Prime Minister Announces Direct Ramadan Relief For Every Eligible Household

During the launch ceremony of the Ramadan Relief Package, the Secretary of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) briefed the Prime Minister, informing him that this year, eligible families would receive PKR 13,000 per person.

He stated that the purpose of the package is to provide relief to needy individuals in a dignified and transparent manner.

The briefing mentioned that last year, PKR 20 billion had been allocated for the Ramadan package, while in 2025, eligible families received PKR 5,000.

This year, the amount has been increased, bringing the total volume to PKR 38 billion. The aid will be directly transferred to eligible individuals through banks.

According to officials, a committee comprising ministers will oversee all stages of the package, while the Prime Minister himself will monitor the system to ensure transparency.

In his address at the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that last year the government delivered the aid to eligible families through a digital system, and this year, more resources have been allocated to provide relief to a greater number of families.

He added that in all four provinces and in Azad Kashmir, eligible families will receive PKR 13,000 per family in a transparent manner.
