Arash Beidollahkhani is a Research Fellow at the Global Development Institute, University of Manchester. He is also an Affiliated Fellow at the Hannah-Arendt-Institute for Totalitarianism Studies at the Dresden University of Technology in Germany.
Beidollahkhani is an interdisciplinary political scientist whose research focuses on the transformation of authoritarian governance in non-Western contexts, particularly the Middle East and Central Asia. His work examines authoritarian resilience, emerging neo-authoritarian models, non-democratic institutions, and state–society relations in post-conflict and transitional settings.
He also investigates digital politics, social media mobilisation and foreign policy, with a regional focus on Middle Eastern politics and society. His research combines comparative political analysis with empirical insights to understand governance, political change, and societal dynamics in complex contexts.
