China launches new communication technology test satellite
(MENAFN) China successfully placed a new experimental communications satellite into space on Saturday, launching it from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in the southern province of Hainan, according to reports.
The spacecraft lifted off at 8:30 p.m. local time aboard a Long March-5 carrier rocket and later entered its planned orbit without incident, as stated by reports.
The satellite is designed to carry out testing related to advanced communication technologies, including multi-band transmission and high-speed data links.
The mission also represented a milestone for China’s space program, marking the 618th launch conducted using rockets from the Long March series.
