BIST 100 Sees Moderate Gains
(MENAFN) The Turkish benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at 11,238.36 points, marking an increase of 0.44% compared to the previous session.
Opening the day at 11,210.31, the BIST 100 index added 48.86 points from Monday's closing value. Throughout the trading session, the index reached a low of 11,147.98 and peaked at 11,244.19.
In total, 48 indexes registered gains, whereas 51 concluded the day with declines.
The overall trading volume amounted to 130.8 billion Turkish liras ($3.07 billion), and the aggregate market value of the index reached 10.58 trillion liras ($249.3 billion).
On the currency front, the USD/TRY exchange rate was 42.5905 as of 6:30 pm local time (1530 GMT), the EUR/TRY stood at 49.5865, and GBP/TRY was 56.7270.
Commodities also showed notable figures, with gold priced at $4,206.85 per ounce and Brent crude oil trading at $61.80 per barrel.
