Anti-Zionist Advocate Says US Backing Allows Israel’s Actions

(MENAFN) Michael Rectenwald, founder of the Anti-Zionist America Political Action Committee (AZAPAC), described the United States as a “munitions depot and an ATM” fueling Israel’s aggressive conduct toward its neighboring countries, speaking to a news agency.

Rectenwald emphasized that Israel exerts significant influence over both U.S. domestic and international policies.

He explained that AZAPAC was established to counteract what he called the “overwhelming” Zionist sway in the United States through electoral campaigns and cultural efforts.

According to him, Israel’s ability to carry out “crimes against humanity” has been possible because the U.S. has openly backed the Gaza conflict, which has resulted in the deaths of over 70,000 individuals—primarily women and children—and left nearly 171,000 others injured since October 2023.

“I thought that the only way to stop this and future such horrors from happening would be to get rid of Zionism from the US government,” Rectenwald stressed, adding that the U.S. administration is “subservient” to Israel, a situation that became “very clear” during the Trump presidency.

He further noted, “Everything they've done and everything they've said in word and deed, they've made clear that Israel is like the main object of policy for the United States—not only foreign policy, but even domestic policy.”
