Emine Erdogan holds talks with WHO officials


(MENAFN) Türkiye’s First Lady, Emine Erdogan, met on Tuesday with a World Health Organization (WHO) delegation, including WHO Europe Director Hans Kluge and Türkiye’s WHO representative, Tasnim Atatrah, at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu also attended the meeting.

The discussion highlighted Türkiye’s prominent role in Europe in alternative medicine. Kluge expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s leadership on Gaza and praised Ankara’s efforts in promoting traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine as part of its health innovation initiatives. He also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to enhance child and adolescent health.

Kluge congratulated Türkiye on its upcoming hosting of COP31 and suggested integrating health and sustainability considerations into global climate discussions.

Emine Erdogan described the meeting as “productive” on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, noting that it addressed key issues on the global health agenda.
