Kurram: Security Forces Foil Infiltration Attempt Amid Rising Cross-Border Activity
Security forces in Kurram district successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Pak-Afghan border after spotting armed individuals trying to enter Pakistan late Thursday night.
According to sources, troops detected movement in the border region and immediately launched an operation using both heavy and light weapons. The armed infiltrators panicked under the retaliatory fire and fled back toward Afghan territory. The timely response by Pakistani forces averted a potential security threat.
Recently, Director General ISPR, during an interaction with senior journalists, stated that Afghan forces at times provide fire cover to militants and smugglers attempting to cross into Pakistan. He said Pakistani border posts are occasionally targeted in order to divert attention and facilitate illegal crossings.
