Piyush Goyal Highlights Ease Of Doing Business, Labour Reforms At Trade Leaders' Conference

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Nov 25 (KNN) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal addressed the National Conference of Trade Leaders, emphasising the government's commitment to strengthening the ease of doing business and improving worker welfare.

Goyal highlighted recent measures undertaken to simplify business processes, including the Jan Vishvas Bill, which aims to reduce compliance burdens and streamline procedures.

Responding to suggestions on the concept of“One Nation, One License,” he proposed that states such as Delhi and Maharashtra could pilot a unified online portal integrating state and municipal trade licences.

The Minister also said that the four newly enacted Labour Codes would provide significant benefits to unorganised and gig workers.

He noted that the previous framework required multiple forms, inspections and complex regulatory compliance, whereas the new system simplifies processes and ensures better access to social security, worker facilities and improved working conditions.

According to him, both employers and employees have responded positively to the reforms.

Encouraging traders to promote Swadeshi products, Goyal suggested that suppliers clearly mention manufacturing locations on product packaging and that shops may display signage indicating the sale of Swadeshi goods.

He underscored the importance of increasing the visibility of“Made in India” products in the domestic market.
