Mujahid: IEA To Give Pakistan Appropriate Response At Right Time
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has strongly condemned Pakistan's airstrikes on Afghan territory last night, saying defending the country's land, airspace and people was its legitimate right and an appropriate response would be given at the proper time.
On Monday night, Pakistani forces bombed the house of a local civilian, Waliat Khan, son of Qazi Mir, in Gurbaz district of southeastern Khost province. As a result, nine children- five boys and four girls- and one woman were martyred, while the house was completely destroyed.
Other airstrikes were conducted in eastern Kunar and southeastern Paktika provinces, injuring at least four civilians.
Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for IEA, wrote on his X handle that the attacks constituted a violation of Afghanistan's territorial integrity and a clear breach of internationally accepted norms by the Pakistani authorities.
He said:“These hostile actions by Pakistani forces achieve nothing; they only prove that operations driven by flawed intelligence inflame tensions and expose the ongoing failures of Pakistan's military regime.”
Mujahid added that IEA strongly denounced this act of aggression and reiterates that defending its airspace, territory and citizens was its legitimate right.
He stressed that a necessary response would be taken at the appropriate time.
