Over one hundred houses get damaged after tornado struck Texas
(MENAFN) A tornado swept through the Houston area in southeast Texas on Monday, damaging more than 100 homes, according to local authorities.
Residents in the Memorial Northwest neighborhoods reported strong odors of natural gas in multiple locations. “There are reports of damaged structures, downed trees and ruptured gas lines in portions of Northwest Harris County,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.
The storm also caused widespread power outages, leaving around 28,000 residents without electricity. More than 24,000 customers have since had their service restored, as stated by the local energy provider.
No fatalities or serious injuries have been reported in connection with the tornado.
