India Rejects Recent Pakistan Accusations

(MENAFN) India has firmly dismissed Pakistan’s claims of its involvement in a suicide bombing that took place outside a district court complex in Islamabad, resulting in the deaths of at least twelve individuals on Tuesday.

Just a day earlier, a separate explosion in Delhi had also claimed the lives of more than a dozen people.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif connected the Islamabad attack with other recent incidents of violence across the country, describing them as the worst manifestations of “Indian state terrorism” in the region.

He further urged the global community to “condemn such nefarious conspiracies of India.”

Responding to Sharif’s statements, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal denounced the accusations as “baseless and unfounded,” and characterized Pakistan’s leadership as “obviously delirious.”

“It is a predictable tactic to concoct false narratives against India in order to deflect attention of its own public,” Jaiswal asserted on Tuesday.

“The international community is well aware of the reality and will not be misled by Pakistan’s desperate diversionary ploys.”

The explosion in Islamabad occurred while the Sri Lankan cricket team—previously targeted in a March 2009 armed assault by gunmen in Pakistan—was engaged in a match in Rawalpindi, located roughly ten miles from the court premises.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif alleged that the Islamabad bombing was coordinated from Afghan territory.
