Collapse at Former Moscow Ski Complex Injures Several

(MENAFN) A massive former ski complex located in the suburbs of Moscow, which was undergoing dismantling, unexpectedly collapsed on Monday, causing injuries to several individuals and destroying numerous vehicles, according to local authorities.

A segment that seems to have been part of a support structure for a ski jump ramp at the Snezhkom facility in Krasnogorsk, within the Moscow Region, fell onto the construction site below.

CCTV footage released by the local prosecutor’s office captured the moment of impact, showing debris and mud being thrown into the air before falling onto a nearby parking area.

The collapse damaged more than 140 cars and affected a main road, a news agency reported.

Following the incident, the road was temporarily closed to traffic as municipal workers worked to clear the rubble.

A Telegram channel linked to the Moscow Region health department stated that three individuals sustained injuries, one of whom required hospitalization.

Authorities have held the demolition contractor responsible for the accident and have promised to provide compensation to the car owners for the damages incurred.
