Roadshow Showcases Rio Project To Arab Investors

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – A residential tourism complex in the municipality of Maricá, Brazil's Rio de Janeiro state, is being presented to investors in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Maraey 's CEO, Emilio Izquierdo, began his regional tour this week by attending the GRI Global Summit, a real estate meeting in Abu Dhabi. From Friday (7) to Sunday (9), he will take part in the UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh, followed by meetings with investors in Dubai on Monday (10) and Tuesday (11).

“We are very excited to take Maraey to the world. With the support of major development banks, we are moving forward with the largest capital structuring effort in the history of the tourism sector in Latin America,” Izquierdo was quoted as saying before the trip in a statement released by the company's press office. At the GRI Global Summit, the CEO spoke on a panel alongside leading entrepreneurs and investors from the hospitality industry. In Riyadh, he is taking part in the Assembly with government representatives, private-sector leaders, investors, and experts to discuss global tourism policies, trends, and strategies.

One of the goals of the trip is to step up fundraising efforts for Maraey, which recently announced the pre-sale of 417 Branded Residences affiliated with the Marriott International network. The project is a smart city integrated into a green area and developed in partnership with the international hotel chain. The Ritz-Carlton and Rock in Rio brands are also part of the venture, which will feature a range of facilities for experiences such as restaurants, sports areas, and a research hub.

The project

Maraey presents itself as Brazil's most innovative and sustainable tourism and residential complex. According to the company, only 6.6% of the land will be built on, and within the total 840 hectares, the second-largest Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN) of coastal sandbank ecosystem in the state of Rio-and the fifth largest in Brazil-will be established. At the end of August, Brazil's Superior Court of Justice authorized the resumption of the complex's construction, which had been suspended due to concerns raised by the Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecutor's Office, mainly regarding environmental issues.
