Iraqi Prime Ministers Urges Citizens To Partake In Elections Due Tuesday

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Nov 7 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Soudani on Friday called on Iraqi citizens in all of the country's provinces to partake in the parliamentary elections scheduled next Tuesday.
The prime minister, in a televised statement, said the government had concluded all preparations for the electoral process in all the governorates.
The government, he added, cooperated with the independent supreme electoral commission and provided it with all requirements for the process in line with its duties and national responsibilities.
Participation in the polls will constitute an explicit message to the world that the citizens of new Iraq maintain power rotation peacefully and through ballot boxes, the prime minister said.
The new Iraqi parliament is due to hold the sixth edition of such polls on Tuesday in all the provinces including the Kurdistan Region.
The elections will determine the 329 members of Iraq's legislative assembly, responsible for electing the country's president and approving appointment of the prime minister. (end)
