Jordan Welcomes Security Council Resolution Removing Syrian President, Interior Minister From Sanctions List

Amman, Nov. 6 (Petra)-- The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs welcomed the UN Security Council's resolution to remove the names of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmad Al-Shar'a, and Interior Minister Anas Khattab from the previously imposed sanctions list.
The Ministry also welcomed the Council's reaffirmation of its full respect for Syria's sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and national unity, as well as its continued support for the Syrian people.
Ministry spokesperson Fouad Al-Majali emphasized the importance of the decision, which he said reflects the international community's will to support the unity, stability, sovereignty, and security of the Syrian Arab Republic.
Al-Majali also reiterated the Kingdom's support for Syria's efforts to rebuild on foundations that ensure its unity, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its land and people, while preserving its security and freeing it from terrorism.
