Young Innovators Shine At VNR VJIET's National Student Hackathon

(MENAFN- ForPressRelease) Mumbai, India, November 6, 2025: VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNR VJIET), successfully concluded Convergence 2k25R - The Hackathon, the flagship event of its 27th annual national-level technical symposium. The two-day hackathon brought together over 2000 students across India to solve real-world challenges through technology, collaboration, and creativity.

With the theme 'Experience Innovation', the event witnessed participants demonstrate exceptional teamwork and technical expertise across eight domains, including Robotics, Healthcare Tech, Green Energy, Fintech, and Tech for Social Good. Guided by industry mentors, students developed impactful prototypes that reflected both innovation and purpose. The hackathon became a platform where students excelled in technical proficiency, from building end-to-end solutions through full-stack development using modern frameworks and APIs, to achieving seamless hardware integration in domains like Robotics and Green Energy, and rapid prototyping, where teams turned bold ideas into functional models within tight deadlines. Strengthening its national footprint, the hackathon drew participation from institutions spanning tier 1 and tier 2 cities across India, including Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Coimbatore. Students from Maharashtra (VIT Pune, D.Y. Patil ATU Talsande) and Tamil Nadu (PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research) joined peers from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, making it a truly pan-India celebration of innovation. In total, thousands of students from over 200 colleges across the country took part in the software hackathon.

A few young tech minds emerged winners, collectively taking home cash prizes worth INR 5,00,000, along with mentorship opportunities and pathways to incubation support. Beyond competition, the hackathon served as a transformative learning journey, strengthening students' ability to collaborate using tools like Git and GitHub while also refining essential soft skills such as problem-solving, time management, and communication. These experiences equipped participants to meet the evolving demands of the tech industry with confidence and creativity.

The hackathon was inaugurated by Dr. G. Mallikarjuna Rao, Scientist, RCI-DRDO, Hyderabad, who commended the participants for their innovative spirit and commitment to solving real-world problems. His address encouraged students to think beyond conventional boundaries and harness technology responsibly to create meaningful impact.

Reflecting on the success of the Hackathon, Dr. C. D. Naidu, Principal, VNR VJIET, said, "Convergence 2k25R demonstrated the immense potential of young engineers when given the right platform and mentorship. The projects we witnessed were innovative, practical, and socially relevant. The learning outcomes went far beyond coding - they were about collaboration, design thinking, and perseverance."

With Convergence concluding successfully in 2025, the institute continues to reaffirm its commitment to nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship, and engineering excellence among the next generation of technologists.
