With publications in world-leading journals, and for practitioners, I am an accomplished academic with a research focus on board diversity, board effectiveness and corporate Governance. I work with the Centre for Financial and Corporate Integrity (CFCI) at Coventry University, and I routinely present my research at international conferences, including BAM, EURAM, EGOS and GWO. With subject expertise on Women on Boards, Board diversity, and Strategic Leadership, I am frequently invited by universities and research organisations globally to speak on my research and publish my research. I am a guest speaker for several practice-based courses within the university. I am the Director of Studies for PhD research, have won research grants and work with international partners for board research.

With 28 years of industry experience in middle and senior management roles, including 8 years as the CFO in the largest public sector undertaking in the telecommunications sector, I bring a bouquet of leadership and cross-cultural and multi-market experience to academia. In my leadership role in industry, I led large teams (500+), was part of high-level tender evaluation and negotiation committees and led arbitration panels for the organisation.

I have led the MBA programme at Coventry University for two years, bringing in a 10-fold rise in student numbers and significant improvement in the student experience. I am passionate about mentoring and coaching peers to support their individual professional development. I actively facilitate our students with opportunities to network with industry stalwarts for for enhanced employability and learning.

I hold a PhD in Corporate Governance, am a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, and have an MA in MediGovernancery (with Silver Medal). I am also a member of the Equality Diversity and Inclusion working group in the Faculty of Business and Law (Coventry University).
