Four Militants Killed As Policeman Martyred, 14 Injured In Bannu Joint Operation
A joint search operation by security forces and police in the Momandkhel area of Bannu turned into a fierce gun battle on Thursday, leaving four militants dead, one policeman martyred and 14 others including a DSP and four civilians injured, officials said.
The exchange of heavy fire erupted during the operation conducted within the jurisdiction of Cantonment Police Station, where constable Abid Khan embraced martyrdom and DSP Malik Ehsanullah Khan sustained injuries along with nine other police personnel and four civilians.
All the injured were immediately shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Bannu for medical treatment.

Injured civilians were identified as Lajbar Khan, Muzammil Khan, Hussain ur Rehman, and a minor girl, Wahaj.
Police said four militants were killed in retaliatory fire; however, their accomplices managed to escape, carrying away the bodies of the dead and the injured militants.
Sources further revealed that the fleeing terrorists also abducted a Rescue 1122 ambulance along with a civilian. A search operation by police and security forces is underway to recover them.
Security in Momandkhel and surrounding areas was placed on high alert following the incident, and the scope of the operation has since been expanded.
The funeral prayer of martyred constable Abid Khan was offered at Police Lines Bannu with full official honours.
The ceremony was attended by DPO Bannu Saleem Abbas Kalyachi, SP City Tohid Khan, SP Investigation Sajid Mumtaz, Pakistan Army officers, the Commissioner Bannu Division, Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, police officers, personnel, and a large number of citizens, including the martyr's family.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Bannu Saleem Abbas Kalyachi said the martyred constable was“our brother,” vowing to avenge his sacrifice. He said operations against terrorists had been further intensified and added that such brave personnel were the pride of the nation. He reaffirmed that anti-state elements and their facilitators would never succeed.
