Odisha Guv Calls For Strategic Plan To Boost Msmes, Proposes 147 MSME Parks

(MENAFN- KNN India) Bhubaneswar, Nov 6 (KNN) Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Tuesday called for a structured strategic roadmap to expand entrepreneurship and industrial activity across the state, stressing the need for close alignment between departmental efforts and long-term development goals.

At a review meeting with the industries and MSME departments, Kambhampati proposed the establishment of 147 MSME parks - one in each assembly constituency - over the next five years, reported TOI.

He said such a plan would drive enterprise development and job creation at the grassroots level, noting that other states have already initiated similar models.

Emphasising opportunities in defence and aerospace manufacturing, the Governor highlighted the Centre's push for increased domestic procurement in key categories.

He advised the department to prepare project profiles detailing land, capital, equipment and technical requirements for products in these sectors.

These profiles, he said, should be shared with students at technical institutions and skill centres to foster innovation and encourage youth entrepreneurship.

“If we can prepare project profiles in these two sectors, we can create many new entrepreneurs,” Kambhampati said.

The Governor also reviewed investment promotion efforts, industrial infrastructure expansion, ease-of-doing-business initiatives and policy implementation.

He took stock of proposals received during the Utkarsh Odisha initiative and their conversion into MoUs, expressing satisfaction with the progress so far.
