Afridi Tribes In Tirah Reject Relocation In Grand Jirga At Lar Bagh
In Lar Bagh of Khyber's Tirah Valley, the grand jirga of Afridi tribes unanimously rejected relocation and announced that they are not willing to leave their homes under any circumstances.
In the jirga declaration, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Khyber district emir and tribal elder Maulana Hazrat Khan said that they can die but cannot even imagine leaving their homes and land. He said martyrdom is acceptable to them but not relocation.
Maulana Hazrat Khan appealed to provincial and federal representatives, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohaib Afridi, MNA Iqbal Afridi and MPA Abdul Ghani Afridi, to convey this clear message of the people of Tirah Valley to the Government of Pakistan that the Afridi tribe will not accept relocation under any circumstances.

He said anyone who vacates their home will be considered a common enemy of the Afridi tribe.
On the other hand, JUI Bara emir Maulana Mustaqeem Haqqani said that the people of Tirah will prefer death over disgrace and no citizen will be allowed to leave their home.
He complained that in some places Afridi women's photos are being taken at checkpoints, expressing anger and saying that taking further pictures of women must stop.
This jirga was held at a time when there is public concern in Tirah Valley over law and order, fears of relocation and increasing movement of forces. Tribal elders and public representatives participating in the jirga fully endorsed the statements of Maulana Hazrat Khan and Maulana Mustaqeem Haqqani.
