Qatar Wins Bronze Medal At International Professional Skills Competition For Persons With Disabilities
Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar achieved a distinguished milestone by securing third place and winning the bronze medal at the International Professional Skills Competition for Persons with Disabilities, hosted by the Russian Federation in October 2025, with the participation of 17 countries from around the world.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Department of Special Education and Inclusive Learning, participated in the event with six high school students from vocational and technical tracks, all of whom are students with disabilities aged over 16.
The objective was to showcase the talents of students with disabilities and enable them to demonstrate their capabilities in various professional fields.
Student Jasim Mohammed Al-Qahtani from Khalifa Secondary School for Boys won third place and the bronze medal in photography, while student Rashid Mohammed Al-Obaidli from Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Thani Secondary School for Boys secured third place and the bronze medal in robotics, earning the Qatari students this prestigious international award in recognition of their excellence and talent.
Other participants included Mohammed Badr Al-Shimali and Jaber Abdullah Al-Dosari from Ibn Taymiyyah Secondary School for Boys, Sultan Ali Al-Ghamdi from Mesaieed Primary Preparatory Secondary School for Boys, and Malak Abdullah Al-Rashidi from Rawdah Al-Adawiya Secondary School for Girls.
The competition categories encompassed flower arrangement, photography, robotics, garment stitching, and cake making. Several countries from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America took part in the competition, including Saudi Arabia, China, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Mauritania.
This achievement is a testament to the efforts of the Ministry in promoting international participation of students with disabilities and empowering them to compete in technical and vocational fields.
