China, Vietnam Urged to Strengthen Youth Role in Bilateral Ties

(MENAFN) Li Hongzhong, vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, on Tuesday encouraged China and Vietnam to motivate their young generations to play a more active role in fostering the development of bilateral relations.

Li, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, shared his remarks during a meeting with Bui Quang Huy, vice president of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and first secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, held in Beijing.

Highlighting opportunities for cultural and historical exchange, Li noted that China welcomes Vietnamese youth to visit for "Red Study Tours" upon invitation.

This program enables young participants to explore the revolutionary heritage that forms the foundation of the friendship between the two nations.

Referring to guidance from senior leaders, Li emphasized that, "in accordance with the important instructions of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries on strengthening youth exchanges," both countries should inspire their youth to actively contribute to establishing a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that holds strategic importance.

Li additionally addressed matters related to the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.

Responding to Li's statements, Bui Quang Huy expressed Vietnam's willingness to enhance youth exchanges and support initiatives that promote stronger bilateral relations.
