25 Injured After Minibus Overturns On Cairosokhna Road


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Egypt's Health Ministry announced that 25 people were injured on Monday when a minibus belonging to the Ministry of Youth and Sports overturned at kilometer 40 on the Cairo–Ain Sokhna Road, near the New Administrative Capital.

Health Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the accident occurred at 9:03 a.m., prompting the dispatch of eight ambulances, with the first arriving on the scene at 9:12 a.m. The injured were transferred to the New Administrative Capital Health Insurance Hospital for treatment.

Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar ordered heightened hospital readiness, the mobilization of additional medical staff and supplies, and continuous monitoring of all patients until their conditions stabilize.

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi expressed gratitude to emergency responders and medical teams for their swift and coordinated response, noting their efficiency in handling the incident.

According to the Health Ministry, injuries included rib and vertebral fractures, shoulder dislocations, contusions, abrasions, and concussions, with some patients experiencing temporary loss of consciousness. Critical cases remain under intensive observation, attended by specialists in emergency medicine, orthopedics, surgery, and neurology.

The ministry's statement did not specify the cause of the accident, and no fatalities have been reported.
