Amir Meets The King Of Belgium


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, met with King Philippe of the friendly Kingdom of Belgium at the Amiri Diwan today, on the occasion of His visit to the state to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development, which begins tomorrow in Doha.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Amir welcomed the King of Belgium and his accompanying delegation, noting the importance of the strong relations that unite the two countries in various fields, and stressing the State of Qatar's aspiration to strengthen them and push them to broader horizons in a way that achieves the common interests of the two friendly countries, His Highness expressed his thanks to him for accepting the invitation to participate in the blade-->


For his part, the King of Belgium expressed his thanks to His Highness the Amir for the warm welcome and for his invitation to participate in the summit, stressing his country's keenness to strengthen and develop relations of friendship and cooperation with Qatar in all fields, and praising His Highness the Emir's role and the State of Qatar's efforts in supporting peace in the region and the world.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries were discussed, as well as ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields. The most prominent regional and international developments were also discussed, in addition to a number of topics of common blade-->


The meeting was attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a number of other high-ranking officials.
From the Belgian side, it was attended by Rob Binders, Minister of Consumer Protection, Social Security, Persons with Disabilities, and Equal Opportunities, and members of the official delegation accompanying the King.
His Highness the Amir and King Philippe had previously held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed a number of issues of mutual interest at the regional and international levels.
