Media Office Says Israel Violated Gaza Ceasefire Accord 194 Times
(MENAFN) Israeli military forces have violated the Gaza truce accord 194 times since its October 10 implementation, the Government Media Office announced Sunday.
Ismail al-Thawabteh, director of the media office, informed media that infractions encompass Israeli penetrations past the designated "yellow line," obstruction of humanitarian supplies including medical provisions, pharmaceuticals, shelter materials, and mobile housing units, alongside armed assaults, bombardments, and ground incursions.
"So far, the occupation forces have committed 194 violations against the Palestinian people since the agreement took effect, an agreement we hoped would bring relief," Thawabteh said, adding that his office submits daily reports to mediators regarding these breaches.
Thawabteh detailed how Israeli troops have systematically breached the "yellow line," deploying armored vehicles into civilian neighborhoods while conducting aerial bombardments and structural demolitions that have caused Palestinian casualties and wounded residents.
He cautioned Palestinians against nearing the "yellow line" due to the risk of unprovoked targeting, referencing prior incidents where Israel had killed civilians attempting to inspect their homes near the area.
The "yellow line" designates the boundary to which Israeli forces retreated under the October 10 ceasefire framework. This invisible demarcation bisects the Gaza Strip horizontally, creating a partition south of Gaza City and north of Khan Younis.
Israel has prevented complete entry of humanitarian convoys and refused to reopen the Rafah crossing with Egypt for patient evacuations requiring overseas medical care, Thawabteh reported.
"Israel has also blocked the entry of medicines and medical equipment," he added.
Since May 2024, Israel has maintained control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing after demolishing and incinerating its infrastructure and prohibiting Palestinian travel through the passage.
Data from the media office reveals that between October 10 and month's end, merely 3,203 trucks entered Gaza from the 13,200 scheduled under the agreement—a 24% fulfillment rate.
