Russia Carries Out Strikes on Ukraine’s Energy, Military Sites

(MENAFN) Russian military forces carried out a coordinated assault on Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities and energy infrastructure, the Russian Defense Ministry announced Monday.

The offensive, which began late Sunday and continued into Monday, employed "high-precision long-range weapons, including ground-based and air-launched systems such as 'Kinzhal' hypersonic aeroballistic missiles and strike drones," the ministry said in a statement.

Targets included "military airfield infrastructure, and repair bases for Ukrainian Armed Forces weaponry and military equipment," the ministry added.

The Russian Defense Ministry asserted that all designated objectives were successfully struck.

In addition, air defense units reportedly intercepted a rocket from the U.S.-made HIMARS system and 365 Ukrainian drones over the past 24 hours, the ministry reported.
