Doha, Qatar: Qatar Insurance (QIC), the leading insurer in Qatar and the MENA region, has reaffirmed its commitment to community health and wellbeing through a series of impactful initiatives conducted in collaboration with the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) during the month of October.
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, QIC organized a Breast & Cervical Cancer Awareness event on 16 October, held under the theme“In Support of Pink October.” Conducted in partnership with QCS, the session featured a certified health educator who shared vital insights on risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of early detection. A clinical dietitian also led a healthy cooking session, offering practical nutrition and lifestyle guidance to reduce cancer risk.
More than 50 female employees from across QIC attended the event, wearing pink in solidarity and engaging in open conversations about women's health and preventive care.
In addition, QIC proudly served as the insurance sponsor of Qatar Cancer Society's“Relay for Life 2025”, a major community event dedicated to honoring cancer survivors, remembering those lost, and inspiring collective action in the fight against cancer. The event, held on 24 October at Aspire Park – IAAF Indoor Track, brought together individuals, families, and organizations for a four-hour walk symbolizing hope, resilience, and unity. The initiative emphasized the importance of physical activity, early detection, and community support in reducing the impact of cancer.
Rashid Al-Buainain, QIC Group Chief Administrative Officer, stated:“At QIC, we believe that promoting health and wellbeing is an essential part of our social responsibility. Partnering with the Qatar Cancer Society through initiatives like Pink October and Relay for Life allows us to support both individual empowerment and community-wide action in the fight against cancer. These efforts reflect our commitment to fostering a healthier and more informed society.”
By supporting initiatives that promote awareness and prevention, QIC reaffirms its dedication to building a healthier future for all.
