DRDO Transfers 12 Technologies To Private Sector Including Msmes
The announcement was made during the inaugural session of SAMANVAY-2025, a two-day industry synergy meet held in Bengaluru.
Organised by DRDO's Electronics and Communication Systems (ECS) cluster, the event aims to boost collaboration between DRDO and the private sector - including startups and MSMEs - under the government's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
More than 150 representatives from the defence industry participated in discussions on research, innovation, and policy reforms.
BK Das, DRDO's Director General (Electronics and Communication System), said Bengaluru continues to play a vital role in driving India's defence innovation.
“Bengaluru is not just the startup capital, but the technology capital and the pride of the nation. Over 500 industrialists came together to explore collaboration, showing the industry's trust in DRDO and belief in India's ability to design and build for its own defence needs,” he said, reported TOI.
The transferred technologies include a range of advanced systems developed across DRDO laboratories, such as the D-29 Electronic Warfare Suite, Sarang ESM System, laser-based guidance technologies, satellite communication terminals, and medical dispenser cathodes.
The recipients of these technologies include leading defence public sector units such as Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), along with private firms like DH Limited, Enertech Engineering, Beam Infotech, Nibe Ltd, and Panacea Medical Technologies.
The event reflects DRDO's continuing effort to promote industry partnerships and encourage indigenous manufacturing in defence technologies, strengthening India's journey towards self-reliance in critical sectors.
