KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) says its latest round of complex negotiations with Pakistan in Istanbul has concluded with an agreement for both sides to meet again and continue discussions on remaining issues.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the IEA's chief spokesman, said in a statement that the talks were held in Türkiye at the request and mediation of the brotherly countries Türkiye and Qatar.

He said the discussions lasted several days and concluded on Friday.

According to Mujahid, the process was conducted in line with the Islamic Emirate's principled policy of resolving matters through diplomacy and mutual understanding.

He added that the IEA has always believed in dialogue and therefore appointed a comprehensive and professional team to participate in the talks, pursuing the process with sincerity, cooperation, and patience.

Mujahid emphasized that the Islamic Emirate, consistent with its approach toward other neighboring countries, seeks positive relations with Pakistan based on mutual respect, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, and non-aggression.

“The Istanbul negotiations, which were a complex process, concluded with an agreement that both sides will meet again and discuss the remaining issues,” the statement said.

The spokesman expressed gratitude to the Republic of Türkiye and the State of Qatar for their mediation and facilitation of the talks.
