Large Oil Slick Spotted Off Western Coast Of Crimea

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Crimean Wind monitoring group reported the news on Telegram, citing satellite imagery.

The oil (fuel oil) spill, covering an area of 0.8 square kilometers, is located near the coast between the villages of Berehove and Pishchane.

It is noted that clumps of fuel oil began to appear on October 26 on the beach in Orlivka near Sevastopol, and on October 28 in Yevpatoriia.

The fuel oil slick detected on satellite images is located between Yevpatoriia and Orlivka.

As reported by Ukrinform, in August, at least 10 tons of oil products entered the Black Sea as a result of a spill near Novorossiysk, Russia. According to satellite data, the total area of the slick was 350 km2 and was moving toward Crimea.
