Walmart Vriddhi Teams Up With Haryana Govt To Boost MSME Capabilities

(MENAFN- KNN India) Panipat, Oct 30 (KNN) Walmart Vriddhi, in partnership with the Ideas to Impact Foundation, held the Walmart Vriddhi MSME Connect 2025 in Panipat, Haryana, alongside the state's Directorate of MSME.

The event brought together government representatives, industry stakeholders, and entrepreneurs to bolster MSME development and promote opportunities under the Walmart Vriddhi Supplier Development Program.

The initiative aims to equip micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with digital, operational, and market readiness skills, with a focus on export-oriented clusters including textiles, home furnishings, handlooms, handicrafts, food processing, leather, and footwear.

Walmart Vriddhi is also expanding its outreach to MSME hubs in Gurugram, Faridabad, Hisar, and Rohtak.

Walmart Vriddhi combines Walmart's global supply chain expertise with Flipkart's extensive eCommerce ecosystem to offer MSMEs free training, mentorship, and business support across finance, marketing, workforce management, logistics, and more.

Launched in 2019, the program supports MSME modernisation and scale-up.

Earlier this year, it formalised an MoU with the Government of Haryana to help local businesses access the Flipkart and Walmart online marketplaces.

So far, the program has supported more than 70,000 MSMEs in India, and it aims to empower another 100,000 entrepreneurs by 2028.

Sushil Sarwan, Deputy Commissioner, Sonipat, Government of Haryana, said the state remains committed to strengthening the MSME ecosystem, adding that initiatives such as the PADMA scheme are aimed at enhancing enterprise infrastructure and competitiveness.

Dheeraj Chahal, HCS, Joint Director (MSME), Government of Haryana, said programs such as Walmart Vriddhi complement the state's efforts by helping entrepreneurs modernise operations, adopt digital practices, and expand their market reach, thereby contributing to Haryana's MSME growth story.

“At Walmart, we are committed to empowering India's MSMEs,” said Jason Fremstad, Senior Vice President, Supplier Development, Walmart.“Through Walmart Vriddhi, we aim to equip entrepreneurs with the training, tools, and market access they need to scale successfully in today's dynamic business environment.”

Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart Group said,“By combining Flipkart's reach with Walmart Vriddhi's training, we are creating new pathways for Haryana's MSMEs to scale locally.”

Walmart and Flipkart leaders reiterated their commitment to supporting MSME growth and global integration.
