The event brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), and key industry stakeholders from India's electronics and mobile export sector.
India's electronics manufacturing sector has recorded strong export performance.
Electronics exports rose 41.9 percent to USD 22.2 billion during April–September 2025, up from USD 15.6 billion in the same period last year.
Smartphone exports registered a 58 percent increase, reaching USD 13.38 billion compared to USD 8.47 billion in April–September 2024.
For FY 2024–25, electronics exports stood at USD 38.6 billion, a 32.6 percent year-on-year increase. India is now the world's third-largest smartphone exporter.
Officials noted that rising domestic sourcing of key components - including batteries, chargers, camera modules, and display units - is strengthening value addition and reinforcing India's position in global value chains amid supply-chain realignments.
The government highlighted its ongoing efforts to streamline trade processes through customs automation, single-window clearances, and export facilitation mechanisms at major ports and industrial clusters.
Progress in Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations with the EU, UK, and EFTA is also expected to widen market access for Indian electronics.
Discussions at the AGM focused on India's target of achieving USD 180–200 billion in electronics exports by 2031, with emphasis on consistent policy support, robust logistics and infrastructure, clean energy integration, and close industry-government collaboration.
MEDEPC reiterated its commitment to advancing the industry's export objectives by addressing policy challenges, supporting exporters, and enhancing India's competitiveness in the global electronics market.
