Turkish Army Deputy Comm. Gen. Visits KNG Military Camps


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- Lieutenant General Huseyin Kurtoglu, Deputy Commander General of the Turkish Gendarmerie, and his accompanying delegation visited on Thursday Al-Tahrir and Sheikh Salem Al-Ali military camps of Kuwait National Guard (KNG).
In a statement, Kuwait National Guard said that Assistant for Financial Affairs and Resource Management, Major General Riyad Tawari received the Turkish delegation during their visit to Al-Tahrir camp as he briefed them on the national guard's objectives and efforts.
The visit included a tour of Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Chemical Defense and Radiological Monitoring Center, where the delegation was received by the Director of the Facilities Management Directorate, Brigadier Engineer Thamer Awad, it said.
The delegation was briefed on the center's tasks and its advanced monitoring stations, modern equipment, and devices used in monitoring and decontamination operations, it pointed out.
The Turkish delegation also visited Sheikh Salem Al-Ali military camp, as they were received by the Commander of Operations and Training, Brigadier General Saleh Ghoneim and briefed them on the shooting ranges, the simulation training field, the sniper field, and the (91) mechanized infantry battalion, it noted.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise between the Kuwaiti National Guard and the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces, which contributes to developing the fields of training and joint field work, it added. (end)
