Naftogaz Completes Gas Storage Plan

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The statement was made by Sergii Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, during a briefing at Ukrinform.

“In line with the government's directive, Naftogaz has accumulated 13.2 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage. This means the company has fully met the target set by the government,” Koretskyi said.

To achieve this, the group spent approximately $1 billion of its own funds and secured around $1.5 billion in partner support, reflecting the urgent need to boost imports following repeated attacks on domestic gas production.

Currently, Naftogaz estimates its additional funding requirement at EUR 1.9 billion to continue importing gas.

“We've already secured a significant portion of that,” Koretskyi added.

Despite the challenges, Naftogaz continues efforts to restore domestic production. Koretskyi emphasized that while the recovery process is gradual and cannot be immediate, it remains ongoing.

As reported, during the night of October 28, a new wave of Russian missile strikes damaged gas production facilities operated by Naftogaz Group in the Poltava region.
