Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has held phone talks with several Arab and European counterparts to discuss developments in the Palestinian cause as well as the worsening situation in Sudan.

According to a statement from Egypt's Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Jordan's Ayman Safadi, France's Jean-Noel Barrot, and Greece's George Gerapetritis.

The discussions come amid intensified Egyptian diplomatic efforts to strengthen regional and international coordination on key Arab issues.

Abdelatty stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the Gaza ceasefire agreement to achieve Palestinian aspirations for statehood.

He also highlighted the need to move into the second phase of the Gaza peace deal, focusing on early recovery and reconstruction.

The minister reviewed preparations for the upcoming International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza, to be hosted by Egypt in November, describing it as a key step to unify international efforts in rebuilding the war-torn enclave under a comprehensive Arab-Islamic framework.

The talks also addressed the deteriorating situation in Sudan, particularly in El-Fasher, emphasizing the need to support regional and international initiatives for a ceasefire and a comprehensive political settlement, in line with the recent Sudan Quartet meeting in Washington.
