Srinagar- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday asserted that India's security forces have struck at the very roots of terrorism, from the abolition of Article 370 to Operation Sindoor, ensuring that no place is safe for terrorists anymore.

Addressing the 41st Raising Day of the National Security Guard (NSG), Shah said the recent Operation Sindoor devastated terror headquarters, training centres, and launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following the Pahalgam terror attack in April, which claimed 26 lives.

“In Operation Mahadev, our forces carried out precise action to eliminate the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack. It has further strengthened the confidence of citizens in our security forces,” Shah said.

Highlighting the government's zero-tolerance policy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the campaign against terrorism has included surgical strikes, air strikes, and now Operation Sindoor.“No matter where terrorists hide, our forces have proven that no place is safe for them. Our soldiers are resolutely determined to go to the depths of the Earth to punish every act of terror,” Shah added.

Since 2019, the government has strengthened counter-terror measures, including amendments to the UAPA and NIA Act, strict enforcement of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, banning terror groups such as the Popular Front of India (PFI), and upgrading the Multi-Agency Centre for intelligence sharing.
