France’s Macron Reassigns Sebastien Lecornu as Prime Minister

(MENAFN) On Friday evening, French President Emmanuel Macron officially reappointed Sebastien Lecornu as prime minister, the Elysee Palace announced, four days after accepting his resignation. Lecornu has been entrusted with the critical task of assembling a new government, according to the presidential statement.

After being reinstated, Lecornu took to social media to emphasize that the ongoing political crisis, which has sparked widespread public frustration and harmed France's reputation and interests, needs to be resolved immediately. He further vowed to "do everything possible to ensure France has a budget by the end of the year."

Lecornu had stepped down on Monday, less than a month after his initial appointment by Macron and just one day after revealing part of his cabinet team, citing that the "conditions were no longer in place" for him to continue in office.
