Jordan Takes Part In Arab Counter-Terrorism Conference In Tunisia

Tunis, Oct. 8 (Petra) – Jordan is participating in the 28th Arab Conference of Heads of Counter-Terrorism Agencies, which opened on Wednesday in Tunis under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, with the participation of senior officials from Arab states' counter-terrorism bodies.
In his opening remarks, the Council's Secretary-General, Mohammad bin Ali Koman, highlighted the major role of extremism in fueling terrorism, describing it as one of the key factors behind terrorist acts worldwide, all of which stem from ideological fanaticism and rigidity of thought.
Koman stressed that addressing extremism is essential for the success of any counter-terrorism strategy a principle reflected in the updated 2022 Arab Strategy for Combating Terrorism, which included "preventing extremism leading to terrorism" as part of the first pillar dealing with conditions conducive to the spread of terrorism.
The conference discusses trends and methods of terrorist financing, ways to curb their impact, and the latest developments in the field of terrorism and counter-extremism.
