Halal Market Forum Opens For Registration
Halal refers to products made in accordance with Islamic rules. Food and beverages, for instance, cannot contain alcohol or traces of pork, which are prohibited for Muslim consumption. Halal spans all segments of the Islamic economy and can even be found in service sectors such as tourism and finance. According to information from GHB itself, the global halal market encompasses 1.9 billion people across 57 countries with a combined gross domestic product of USD 7.5 trillion.
In its third edition, the GHB will feature the central theme“Halal Green – Sustainable business and intercultural dialogue on the road to COP30”, a reference to the climate summit to be held in Belém, Brazil's Pará state, in November.
Over its two days of meetings, the GHB hosts halal market experts in presentations and panels that discuss the potential of the halal market across various topics, such as sustainability, innovation and technology, and Islamic finance. During the forum, the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress (CTec) is also held, where research on the halal universe is shared.
