Kuwait Customs Chief: Intensify Efforts, Tighten Inter-Department Coop.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- Director General of Kuwait's General Department of Customs Yousef Al-Nuwaif on Sunday urged closer teamwork among the customs departments to keep cargo moving and stop smuggling.
In remarks following an inspection of Shuwaikh Port (Northern Ports Customs) and Failaka Island with Deputy Director General for Research and Investigation Saleh Al-Omar, Al-Nuwaif commended customs inspectors for supporting the country's security and economy, Kuwait Customs said in a statement.
Field checks will continue to boost discipline, readiness, and performance, he mentioned.
Kuwait Customs is pushing ahead with upgrades that match global practice in customs operations, Al-Nuwaif added.
The tour covered the Container Inspection Center and specialized units, where officials outlined steps to speed up transactions while following customs regulations. (end)
