Kuwait FM Participates In UNRWA Meeting

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya took part in the Ministerial Meeting in Support of UNRWA during the 80th UN General Assembly on Thursday.
The meeting, called by Jordan, Spain and Brazil, also saw the attendance of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, touching on intensified efforts to handle the alarming situation in the Strip, as well as UNRWA's relentless efforts to support the people of Palestine.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East was established in 1949 with a mandate to provide humanitarian assistance and protection to registered Palestine refugees in the Agency's area of operations pending a just and lasting solution to their plight. (end)
