Al Misnad Meets UNRWA Commissioner-General, Other Officials In New York

New York: Minister of State for International Cooperation H E Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad met with Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) H E Philippe Lazzarini, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting focused on cooperation between Qatar and UNRWA, discussing the current conditions of Palestinian refugees, and addressing the challenges facing the agency.

She reaffirmed Qatar's continued support for UNRWA's efforts to deliver essential services and meet the urgent needs of Palestinian refugees.

Minister of State for International Cooperation, also met with Executive Director of the World Food Program, Cindy McCain, on the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, both sides discussed cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Program in the areas of food security and humanitarian response. They also deliberated on avenues for consolidating partnerships to ensure the flow of aid to communities in greatest need.

Al Misnad met with Doctors Without Borders Secretary-General H E Christopher Lockyear, on the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the State of Qatar and the organization in the humanitarian field, particularly in supporting medical and relief efforts in crisis-affected regions, thus contributing to alleviating the suffering of those most impacted by conflicts.

Minister of State for International Cooperation also met with CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, H E Dr. Sania Nishtar, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the State of Qatar and the alliance to support vaccination programs and expand partnerships to ensure vaccine access to children in the most vulnerable communities.

Meanwhile, the State of Qatar participated in the High-level Ministerial Dialogue on Digital Cooperation on the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Minister of State for International Cooperation represented the State of Qatar at the Dialogue.
