Ukrainian President Arrives In New York For High-Level UN General Assembly Events


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to an Ukrinform correspondent, citing members of the Ukrainian delegation, Zelensky is scheduled to speak Tuesday afternoon at a UN Security Council meeting focused on Russia's war against Ukraine. On Wednesday morning, he will address the General Assembly during its general debate.

Zelensky is also set to hold numerous bilateral meetings during these days, including a scheduled meeting on Tuesday with U.S. President Donald Trump.

A series of parallel high-level events organized by Ukraine are scheduled to take place in New York, including those involving First Lady Olena Zelenska-focused on education as a foundation of Ukraine's resilience, as well as efforts to return children abducted by Russia.

The President of Ukraine wrote about his arrival in the United States on his Faceboo page.

“Together with the First Lady of Ukraine and our team, we have arrived in New York to take part in the UN General Assembly, the first leaders' summit of our Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, and the annual Crimea Platform Summit, which in 2025, for the first time, will be held on a global stage – underlining the global nature of the changes brought about by this war, the war that Russia began in Crimea,” he wrote.

“We remember the roots of Russian aggression. We are doing everything to stop the war. We are working to guarantee long-term security for all Ukrainian children,” he added.

He also stated that support from partners is essential.“And such new support will undoubtedly be the outcome of this diplomatic week,” he wrote.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Zelensky stated that nearly 20 meetings between the Ukrainian delegation and world leaders are planned during the UN General Assembly week.

The White House has officially confirmed the bilateral meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, set to take place Tuesday in New York.
