Türkiye Feels Hopeful About Global Recognition of Palestine

(MENAFN) Türkiye expressed optimism that forthcoming acknowledgments of the Palestinian state by multiple nations will quicken the advancement of a two-state resolution, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared on Sunday.

Erdogan emphasized that what distinguishes this week’s UN General Assembly from earlier gatherings is that several nations are set to recognize the state of Palestine.

He conveyed these remarks to journalists in Istanbul before setting off for the summit in New York.

Regarding Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa’s participation in this year’s assembly, the Turkish leader stressed that Ankara will not forsake Damascus and will continuously employ all available resources to help reinforce its neighbor.

Erdogan also noted that he anticipates a chance to engage with Sharaa at New York’s Turkevi Center, also known as the Turkish House, during the General Assembly meetings.
