Tourists seeking to take photos to remember their visit to the picturesque spot ran away, while residents peered out of their homes to find out what was causing the commotion on the normally quiet island. According to residents of Taboga, this scenario is nothing new. They reported that this is not the first time the individual has attacked others with a machete. It has happened before, and they claim the police detain him, but soon after, they release him, and the story repeats itself.
